How To Create A Cozy Condo Vibe

How To Create A Cozy Condo Vibe

Accentuate your entryway

It all starts with creating the right mood or vibe. If you want to create a cosy vibe for your condo, you have to go all in and do it all the way. In this cosy condo we’ve redesigned in a property on Elias Road, we did just that. The entryway was accentuated with stylized art, a centrepiece crystal, and minimalist choice pieces that were both sophisticated and welcoming. It’s also important to keep your personal sense of style or design in mind while you’re at it.

Go with something that you feel represents you and what your specific aesthetic is and go from there. We set it against a neutral white backdrop. White is the holy grail of neutrals and something that you can’t go wrong with, in our opinion. We warmed up the space with touches of wood. It also brings in textures and patterns that help liven up the space.

Invest on a high quality and comfy couch

One element that you shouldn’t scrimp out on at all if you’re trying to create a comfy but luxurious vibe for your condo space would have to be the furniture – the couch, in particular. Pictured below, we opted for a light brown sofa that comes in a muted shade of light brown. We used it as the base for the rest of our living room décor and if we can say so ourselves, it works! It’s the type of couch that sort of invites you in. you can curl up against it with a hot cup of tea on a cold day or you can just kick it back with some popcorn and refreshments on a movie night. It’s also great for having people over. If you want to make the space even cozier, you can add in some throw pillows and some comfortable rugs to really bring the entire look together. You don’t need to go overboard. A nice and high quality couch can definitely go a long way.

Invest on proper lighting – low-hanging pendant lights

Another key element in creating warm and cozy spaces at home is rethinking your lighting fixtures. In this condo property, we opted to replace generic ceiling lights with low hanging pendant lighting. It breaks up the space and creates the illusion of a smaller space without making the area feel cramped or closed in. Varying lengths are perfect as they add in not just sophistication but also overall added dimensionality to the space that you’re creating. Pendant lights can come in all sorts of materials and styles so no matter what your design theme or preferences are, you’re bound to find one that fits just right in to the look that you’re creating. A big plus is opting for dimmer light bulbs to make the lighting effect a little more intimate and inviting. It’s something that can easily make you feel at home at the end of a long day at work.

Make use of space dividers

One main challenge we noticed with condos, in general, is that most of them come with open plans or bare-spaced layouts. This can be overwhelming to the untrained eye but can easily be addressed by adding in dividers. It allows you to segregate the different areas of the condo from living space to kitchen to dining area, very similar to what we’ve done in this Elias Road condo.

If you want to maintain a feeling of openness, you can opt for waist-high dividers. It will allow you to add a sense of separation from the different areas while still maintaining an open-plan type of feel for the condo space that you’re redecorating.
